Creation and Direction

Roman Sky is a video on demand site, dedicated to providing the best Catholic media for free and without subscription. Launched on January 2019
We also provide an outlet for publishers who are finding their works suppressed/censored on other social media sites (eg youtube, facebook). Orthodoxy is obviously not a popular position to have at this time.

Our content is extended every day so there is always something new to watch.

Currently, apart from the Roman Sky website, our media can also be viewed from the RomanSky channel on all Roku devices as well as our app for android devices (available on Google Play).
Roman Sky is a charitable service and does not require any form of membership or payment to view our entire media library.

What's in the name?

While looking for inspiration for our media site's name, we focused on two things. 1. Something easy to recognise and capture the imagination 2. Something that relates to the Church (and those outside the Church), its history, struggles and glories.

'Roman' doesn't simply relate to Rome as the centrepiece of the physical Church. It also relates to the history of Ancient Rome and the old world. Where the day to day struggles were filled with every sin, where life had little value and the burdens to man's crimes laid heavily on his tired soul. Men used their corrupt wills to conquer everything under a pagan flag, subjection under cold steel. Only the sky could not be conquered and remained closed to them.
And yet, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the sky (heavens) were opened, and grace poured forth over the earth. Finally, mankind was provided with a source of nourishment to quench his thirst and find true peace.

We now live in an age very similar to Ancient Rome. Where many, caught up in the short-lived thrills and promises of the world, cannot find rest. A battle between the temptations of the earth (Ancient Rome) and the graces coming from the heavens (Sky) and Christ's Church.

As such, one of the many difficulties is providing materials suitable to everyone. We're not all on the same page, nor are we all on the same stage of our Christian journey. Sometimes it feels we're not even on the same planet.
One video may be good for someone advanced along the path of faith, yet needing encouragement to keep going. Another may be better suited to a soul caught in the bondage of sin, and seeking a way to free themselves. What is often relatable is finding ourselves in the world of Ancient Rome, dragging our heels as we raise our weary heads to the sky, to a new Rome. We all look for hope, we all struggle and we all take steps that often feel like we're sinking deeper into the sands. Yet Jesus said, 'Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and you shall find: knock, and it shall be opened to you. For every one that asketh, receiveth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened...' Matthew 7:7-8

Timothy 4:7 At the end with St Paul, we all want to be able to say,  'I have fought a good fight: I have finished my course: I have kept the faith.'
